Karrie H. Marling

Ms. Marling is a graduate of Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas and earned her Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University at the Dedman School of Law, Dallas, Texas. She began practicing law in 1999. After obtaining her law license, she served as a Law Clerk for U.S. Magistrate Judge Judith K. Guthrie in the Eastern District of Texas.

In private practice for the next seven years, she focused on real property transactions, including the review, negotiation, closing and when necessary, the enforcement of contracts including necessary litigation and settlement proceedings related to real estate disputes. Ms. Marling then opened her own general law practice, assisting in litigation matters, managing discovery and continuing work on contract, real estate and estate planning matters until she was engaged by Pitney Bowes Software to examine and analyze software licensing agreements, establish best practices for the product delivery team she supported and work on legal review and development of standard operating procedures in support of the software deliver team to enhance cost-avoidance and efficiencies.

Her practice at the firm includes both the counseling of firm clients in the wide array of day-to-day legal issues impacting local government, with an emphasis in real property and contracts; as well as, representation of firm clients in administrative, trial and appellate proceedings as necessary.
