Jonathan W. Needle
Mr. Needle graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, with a Bachelor of Arts and followed up with his Master of Arts shortly after. Jonathan earned his Juris Doctorate from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law.
In 1988, Mr. Needle received his license to practice law in Texas. He is admitted to practice before the Texas State Courts, the four Federal Districts Courts in Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Needle's first attorney position was as a briefing attorney for the Texas Court of Appeals at San Antonio. He moved on to a private lawfirm in Austin, TX where he was involved in handling multi-party utility disputes for two years. His robust career continued with Texas Association of Counties (TAC) as counsel for almost ten years, reviewing claims, policy planning, insurance coverage negotiations, investigating ethics violations and open government laws. Prior to joining our firm Jonathan served as Chief Legal Officer with the Houston Firefighters' Relief and Retirement Fund, a unit of local government managing about $4.3 billion in assets, for more than fifteen years.
His practice includes contract negotiations, investments, software and database licensing agreements, general commercial transactions, public retirement agreements, governmental representation, communications, insurance coverage, policy planning, ethics issues and open government laws, as well as state and federal legislation.
